Beinn A’Bheithir
This gentle giant is behind our cottage although the start lies in the forest of Glennachulish. It is a wonderful traverse on a clear day. Navigation is straightforward, exhilarating in the Winter because you stay high on the ridge for so long. The difficulty can easily be avoided. This is the North East ridge leading to Sgorr Bhan, You can take the easier North Ridge instead. Don’t be tempted to come off the crest of the ridge and bypass the rocky sections.  It can be a long day this traverse, little scrambling 7 ½ hours and 10 miles. 2 Munros
Bidean nam Bian  New Munro identified on a  spur
This mountain is the crowning glory of Argyll. The summit is very graceful and a little shy. In summer it is a gentle grade 2, but winter involves a steep snow climb and the ridges may become corniced. When you reach the skyline, you still have some way to go, because the summit lies back a bit. If you come back via the Hidden Valley then you must pick up the path at the correct point for the descent because all the other gullies are very difficult. 2  more Munros. 6 hours, and 6 miles.
Buchaille Etive Beag  This is a new Munro, too
You can choose the longer, higher and steeper path from Dalness on the little Loch Etive road. Or you can start near the Study at the top of Glencoe where the road cuts through the rock. Easier ground and you start higher up. The easiest introduction to high level walking and winter conditions in the whole area. Views to the South are wonderful. 1 Munro, 5 ½ hours and 5 ½ miles Grade only 2.
This is Crowberry Ridge - not one
of the easy ones.
