The glories of  GLENCOE WILD LIFE around our cottage
Just keep your eyes peeled out of our windows

There are more than 1,000 deer in Glencoe. They are low  in the glens in winter and in the evenings, best place to see them is at the top of Glen Etive.  This lovely shot of a young, very wet deer is by one of Glencoe finest photographers, Billy Currie.  Thank you Billy for letting us use it. His photography and wood turning website

In the bay by our front room window, look for the herons, oyster catchers, a seal occasionally, finches in our back garden, shags and cormorants on the rocks around the corner. In lovely Cuil Bay you’ll see guillemots and gannets wagtails, Canada Geese, ugh!

There are two different rocks for seals within 20 minutes. See buzzards along the road. You’ve hardly left our cottage yet! Oh, and ask Jessie, our neighbour how you can see the pine marten family next door to her.

Go to the mouth of the River Coe for masses of  other birds and small animals. Sea eagles come visiting from their nests in Mull. You can see Golden Eagles at the top of Glencoe and at Strontian just across the Corran ferry.

SEA LIFE CENTRES. Try the Fort William Marine Exhibition beside Lochaber College  Towards Oban, you’ll find the popular Sea Life Centre about 5 miles down on the right, well signposted.
